German-Chinese education cooperations

Since the winter semester 2002/2003, FOM has been offering a German-speaking course in economics at two Chinese study centres. Students initially qualified as a Diplom-Kaufmann / -frau (FH), today they obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. One study centre is located in Taiyuan on the campus of the Shanxi University of Finance & Economics (SXUFE). The second study centre started teaching in September 2003 in Tai'an (province of Shandong) in cooperation with the Shandong Agricultural University (SDAU).

As part of the Master degree programme which is taught in English, FOM introduced two more cooperations with the College of Mobile Telecommunications, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecom and the Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology in the winter semester 2011/12.

First collaborative study programme in NRW's partner province of Shanxi

The Shanxi University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) was founded in 1951 and is one of the oldest business universities in China. Its main focuses are business, management and law. A total of around 15,000 students are enrolled at SUFE, 11,000 of them Bachelor students and almost 4000 MA students. SUFE is located in Taiyuan, the capital of the province of Shanxi, and it operates three campuses in Wucheng, Yingze and Pingyang. SUFE has over 1000 teaching staff, including approx. 380 professors.

Educational excellence "made in Shandong"

Shandong Agricultural University is based in the town of Tai'an at the foot of the sacred Mount Tai. SDAU evolved from the Shandong High Agricultural Institute, which was established in 1906. Renamed the Shandong Agricultural University in 1983, its main focuses are agriculture, bioscience, engineering and economics. SDAU has a total of approx. 32,000 students, including 29,000 Bachelor students and 3000 MA or doctoral students. Around 2000 lecturers teach at SDAU, 650 of them are professors.

Studying in China's biggest city

The College of Mobile Telecommunications at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecom was founded in 2000 and has been approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education. The College is located in the autonomous city of Chongqing, which is China's biggest city. The College currently teaches 28 subjects, including electronic information science, computer science, automation, economics and foreign languages. 12,300 students are enrolled at the college and 655 teachers, including 239 professors, teach there.

Studying in the Chinese capital

The Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology (BIPT) is based in Peking, the capital of China. Founded in 1978, BIPT is one of China's most important universities specialising in petrochemistry. BIPT is made up of 13 institutes and it offers 25 Bachelor degree courses, including degrees in petrochemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science and technical business administration. A total of 7,500 students are enrolled at the college, and 790 teachers, including 470 full-time members of staff, teach there.
