In 2013, FOM German-Sino School of Business & Technology (GSSBT) was established for cooperative study programmes with Chinese partner universities exclusively. German-Chinese education cooperations

FOM University has been fostering relationships with its partner universities in China for over 20 years. Since the turn of the millennium, FOM’s partnership network and cooperation programmes have been expanding. Students from various provinces in China can complete degree programmes at FOM within the framework of academic cooperations with Chinese universities.

Study in the capital of China

The Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology (BIPT) is located in Beijing, the capital of China. BIPT was founded in 1978 and is one of the most important universities in China specialising in petrochemistry. BIPT has 13 institutes and offers 25 bachelor's degree programmes, among which petrochemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, technical business administration are the main subjects. BIPT has a total of 7,500 students and 790 teaching staff, 470 of whom are full-time.

Beijing Union University was established in 1985. It was originally from the branches of more than 30 key universities in Beijing, such as Peking University and Tsinghua University. BUU is a university that focuses on undergraduate education with complete disciplines, and trains application-oriented students. Today, the university has developed into a university of large scale and high enrolment rate and is one of Beijing’s key training bases for application-oriented students.

BUU currently has a student body of nearly 30,000, including 20,000 undergraduates, over 8,000 higher vocational college students, some postgraduates, and over 6,000 students for adult education.

Changshu Institute of Technology is a provincial public university, which is characterized by polytechnic, application technology and teacher education. It is located in the center of the Yangtze Delta, in Changshu, a satellite city of Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. CIT comprises 11 schools which are altogether offering 41 full- time undergraduate courses. It has an enrollment of over 16400 full-time undergraduates. Among its nearly 1100 staff, there are over 300 professors, about 600 doctors and masters, 650 or so specialized teachers and 60 part-time teachers.

Study in China's largest city

The Chongqing College of Mobile Communication was founded in 2000 and is a college approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education. The college is located in the autonomous city of Chongqing, which is the largest city in China. Currently, the college offers programmes of a wide range of subject fields, including electronic computer science, computer science, automation, economics and foreign languages. The college has a total of 24,000 students and 1,200 faculty members.

Jiangsu University of Technology (JSUT) was brought into existence as Changzhou Teachers College of Technology in 1984. Situated in Changzhou, the central region of the Yangtze River Delta.  It provides 56 undergraduate majors for nearly 18,000 full-time students and has over 1,200 staff members among which are nearly 900 teachers, with 450-odd holders of senior professional titles and about 900 doctors or masters.

Established in 2002, Jinzhong College of Information (JCI) is located in the famous historical and cultural city of Taigu, Shanxi Province, which is known as a hometown of Mencius mom and the origin of famous Shanxi merchants.

JCI currently enrolls more than 15,000 students and offers 43 distinct undergraduate majors across 7. 10 secondary colleges (departments) and 4 teaching sections. Multiple international cooperation and exchange programs with 6 universities in Germany and the United States.

Educational excellence made in Shandong

Shandong Agricultucal University (SDAU) is located in the city of Taian at the foot of the sacred Tai Mountain. SDAU emerged from the Shandong High Agricultural Institute, which was founded in 1906. In 1983, the university was renamed Shandong Agricultural University. The main focus is on agriculture, bioscience, engineering and economics. SDAU has a total of about 32,000 students, of which 29,000 are Bachelor's students and 3000 Master's students or doctoral candidates. Around 2,000 lecturers teach at SDAU, of which 650 are professors.

Cooperation study programme of the 1st hour in the NRW partner province of Shanxi

The Shanxi University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) was founded in 1951 and is one of the oldest universities in the field of economics in China. The focus is on economics, management and law. SUFE has a total of around 15,000 students, of whom 11,000 are Bachelor's students and just under 4,000 Master's students. SUFE is located in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province, and has three campuses Wucheng, Yingze and Pingyang. SUFE has more than 1,000 teaching staff, including about 380 professors.

First cooperation in engineering

Shenyang University is an important university in the Chinese province of Liaoning. The university is located in the provincial capital Shenyang, which is known as the "Ruhr Area of the East" due to its industrial background.

Shenyang University has a long history and was founded as early as 1906. Nowadays, Shenyang University has become a comprehensive university and has around 1,200 university lecturers.  Currently, more than 30,000 students are enrolled there.

Founded in 1998 with an enrollment of less than 300 students, today Sias has an enrollment of 24,500, and employs about 1,000 full-time faculty members, including 128 full-time foreign teachers. It offers 67 undergraduate degree programs, 14 associate degree programs, and 5 dual degree programs with Fort Hays State University in Kansas. It also has six graduate programs.

As an international university, Sias enjoys partnerships with over 52 international partner schools in 20 countries. It has many international students from more than 20 countries as well as faculty members whose expertise and training embrace both Chinese and Western educational philosophies.

Wuhan Business University is a young university located in the city of Wuhan. The city of Wuhan is the provincial capital of the Chinese province of Hubei. With its practice-oriented study programmes, Wuhan Business University concentrates on the subject area of business & management. In addition, Wuhan Business University attaches great importance to cooperation with companies and maintains numerous international academic collaborations. The university currently has more than 10,000 students and approximately 650 university lecturers.

The FOM German-Sino School of Business & Technology has pooled its research activities into one competence centre. Academics from FOM International University and the Chinese partner universities are involved. The aim is to represent general, global developments in their international causes, effects, interdependence and perspectives. The research topics range from energy, the environment and demographic change to medical economics.
