Foundation course in business with specialisation
The Bachelor of Arts course in Business Administration is a foundation course in business that prepares students for a specialist and leadership career track in a German-Chinese context. After a one-year preparatory course in German, the four-semester basic course of study begins in China. Within two years, all relevant areas of business administration are covered, including accounting, procurement, balancing of accounts, financing and commercial law. Students are also given thorough training in national economics and information technology.
In the following one-year period in Germany, special subjects can be elected according to individual preferences, so that an initial specialisation takes place, including the Bachelor thesis. This part of the study programme is particularly important for the students' international and intercultural orientation and sensitisation. The support team in Essen helps students in all areas of everyday life and organises internships, excursions and a mentoring programme.
With their language skills and intercultural experience, graduates of the Bachelor of Arts course in Business Administration aim to work for German or Chinese companies involved in international trade. A career in public administration in China is another attractive alternative, especially since the authorities are adapting to the needs of Chinese companies on an ongoing basis.
Many students, however, choose to stay in Germany to take a Master's degree.
